A couple and its two young sons allegedly ended their lives by consuming some poisonous substance at a village near Karauli’s Sapotara area in Rajasthan. Their bodies were found on an agriculture farm where the couple worked as caretakers.
The police have recovered a pesticide bottle lying near the bodies and suspect that they drank it to commit suicide. The police said it would be confirmed only after a postmortem examination of the bodies. The police are also trying to ascertain what drove the family to take the extreme step.
The incident took place at Bhartun Dabara village. The deceased were identified as Rajendra Meena (50), his wife Pirvo Devi (48) and their two sons Ramawtar (48) and Ataram Meena (25). They were residents of a nearby village, but since the couple worked as a caretaker, the family stayed at the agriculture farm belonging to the village’s former sarpanch.
